The Virginia Academy of Science (VAS) is an organization first established at the College of William and Mary in 1923. Our members are active in STEM research and education. We promote the advancement of science in the Commonwealth of Virginia by providing financial support for research projects and by providing a platform for dissemination of research results.
American Chemical Society: Hampton Roads Local Section
The Hampton Roads Local Section promotes public awareness of chemistry by being involved in community outreach programs and working with chemistry students and promotes STEM programs to enhance scientific awareness and communicate the value of chemistry in our society. We provide networking opportunities to connect chemists working in government, academia and industry to strengthen and serve the local chemistry community.
Chem Tutor is an intelligent tutoring system for undergraduate students and high-school students learning about foundational chemistry concepts related to atomic structure and bonding. Chem Tutor supports student learning by doing and helps students as they solve challenging chemistry problems. It provides step-by-step guidance in the form of feedback and hints.
